With newer methods of working such as BYOD, digital nomadism and remote working gaining popularity, companies are being forced to work in asymmetrical ways that both challenge older business process models and present interesting new advantages. Just look what Airbnb, Uber and Lyft have done to their respective industries. But even as business process models have helped power many industry trends, companies today are confronted with challenges that until recently were non-existent.
